This is great, check it out: link. I was reading this interesting article about the success of the Smart car in Canada. I didn’t realize it wasn’t available in the US, but as this quote from the story suggests, it’s probably not what Americans are looking for: The entry-level auto segment – from subcompacts like the Smart to cars like the Toyota [...] I’m taking a few minutes out of my lunch break to curse Kyle and Dean. For some reason, the banana phone song featured prominently in a dream I had last night. Now ever since I woke up, I can’t get the damn thing out of my head! Where ‘you’ is ‘me’, unless you’re one of my roommates or potentially a stalker hanging out in my backyard. Google Maps with satellite imagery is cool. Let the marketing extravaganza begin! Actually, although some products are leaking out, the big Revenge of the Sith commercialism orgy doesn’t begin until Saturday. And boy will it be hard to avoid. I’ve been directing so many people to watch these trailers and promised to send links to others, this will serve as a reminder. Sin City looks amazing, and early reviews have been stellar. I think a trip out next weekend to see it will be in order. Like the trailers, though, I think the [...] For all its usefulness, Microsoft Word can be really irritating. Like how the default Print icon sends jobs directly to the printer. Or its ‘helpful’ autoformatting. Don’t even get me started on Clippy and his pals (I thought these guys were being retired)! These are just some of the things I [...] Now here’s some culture I can get into! Or also “Longing for the days of AdCritic”. It’s extra difficult for us north of the border to see some of the great commercials that debut during the Super Bowl. Good thing there’s the internet. And sites like this. I haven’t watched them all, but some suggestions so far: Sharon His Girlfriend, P-Diddy [...] A Canadian voice from down in Utah speaks up on the same-sex issue. Former officemate and Applied Mathie Geoff had his well-written letter to the editor published in today’s Toronto Star (see link in title above). Now if only he displayed the same inclusiveness and tolerance for my so-called “defection” to the world [...] A mention in the latest Harper’s Weekly: German police were searching for the those responsible for sticking miniature American flags into thousands of piles of dog excrement in public parks over the last year. Click the link in this entry’s title to read more from an actual news article. Sorry, couldn’t find one with pictures. Look at this, just in time for my birthday! Introducing, Darth Tater. Children will be able to “have all kinds of mix n’ match, Mr. Potato Head fun with this wacky spud dressed as the infamous `Star Wars’ villain, Darth Vader.” Pffft, forget the children, think of all the excitement for us grown-up geeks! Those wacky conservative Christian groups are at it again. Tolerance and diversity … but don’t cross their ignorant “moral lines”. See link above. Research of the day: how to trap squirrels. As in removal from attics, not for sport. For later reference: Squirrels in your Belfry |
