After a few tiring evenings involving trips to & from downtown, finally determining my top ranked films, and coordinating selections with a few people, I arrived at a hypothetical schedule which you can view here. After work today I dropped off order packages for Mike and myself, including some selections on behalf of Sven [...]
I know I owe a number of folks e-mail replies … I’ve just been a little single-minded with doing pTIFFdb-related tasks. I will get to them soon!
Today the official Film Festival schedule is released, so look for all the showtime info to be appearing here later on. I still have a number of [...]
Just a few small updates today for pTIFFdb. Some new showtime info has found its way online: tiffreviews.com reports on times for titles from Arclight Films and the Canadian film Acts of Imagination; I came across ones for Khadak, Summercamp!, and Tales of the Rat Fink.
Against my original intentions, I added some hacks explicitly [...]
Showtime options (the few that we know of, anyway) are now available when viewing film profiles. Users who are logged in will be able to save these to ‘My Showtimes’.
This update also adds a ‘My Showtimes’ filter that registered users can choose from when listing films. The effect is that only films for [...]
I’m feeling like such a (pop) cultured guy. Here’s what I’ve got lined up over the next little while:
Lord of the Rings ‘musical’ with Sakina next weekend
Spamalot with Sven, Mandy, and Laura a few days later on the Tuesday
Toronto Film Festival starts on the Thursday, and I’m taking the following week off to geek [...]
Just a small update tonight, in terms of external facing aspects of pTIFFdb: I’ve entered the showtimes for the Galas and the screenings at the Elgin Theatre. This enables a couple new ways to search, incorporating date & time as well as the venue. I will soon be adding this info to individual [...]
Phew, this last import was tiring. But pTIFFdb now has almost all of the Film Festival titles entered, except for those of the Wavelengths programme. I need to make some database schema adjustments to accommodate these showings (and groups of short films, plus a few other special cases, too), so until then here’s [...]
The complete lineup for the Film Festival was released today, and it weighs in at a hefty 352 titles from 61 countries. This was just one of a slew of press releases put out today, including some massive name dropping; if TIFF was on myspace, they’d have oh so many friends!
I’ll get to [...]
So, what was I talking about a few weeks ago regarding that geeky idea? Well, I took that weekend to brush up on my PHP and mySQL and designed a little app for the forthcoming Toronto International Film Festival. I’ll get into much more detail about the purpose & features over the next [...]
Do all my posts from this year seriously fit onto one page? Ouch. It’s amazing how quickly you can fall *out* of a habit — not that I was all that prolific in my postings before, but still.
It’s a long weekend coming up, and I’ve got some crazy (geeky) ideas with how to [...]
