I am feeling totally out of it right now. I was up late last night, about 2am or so, just between chatting and doing some reading. I managed to sleep in until past noon, but I was only up for a couple of hours before it was time for a nap. That lasted until 5:30 and I think I could easily go right back to sleep.
Speaking of sleep, I went into Kitchener-Waterloo on Wednesday afternoon for the appointment with the ENT specialist. It was informative, yet also a big waste of time. Using this scope to check out my nasal passages (an activity which tickles the nose and throat, and makes the eyes tear up), the doc confirmed that I’m dealing with a deviated septum. They can straighten things out, and this should improve my breathing with *may* help me sleep better at night and hence lose the daytime tiredness. Nothing is guaranteed, which I completely understand, but it is the first course of action.
The waste of time part is that the Kitchener specialist can’t refer me to one in Mississauga, and I wish I had been familiar with how all this works (consequence of never needing to go to the doctor). Apparently, the KW sleep clinic shouldn’t have even bothered with the ENT referral if they knew I was moving (which I did tell them). Now I apparently need to find a family doctor in Mississauga, arrange for records to be transferred from the UW clinic, and go through them for a local ENT referral. If it’s as busy as in KW, it’ll take months for that appointment, just for them to diagnose the whole deviated septum thing themselves and then wait 3-4 months (if I’m lucky) to schedule the surgery required.
I don’t care so much about all the waiting involved with this process, just the extra 3 months wasted on this most recent step. Inefficiency annoys me.

Steve snores! Ha Ha! (Nelson voice)
Nope, snoring’s not a problem. But I guess “Steve doesn’t get good-quality sleep! Ha ha!” doesn’t have the same ring.
