Besides that visit to the doctor’s, the rest of the trip to KW was worthwhile. It had an interesting start, though. Just as I’m getting on the 401, I instinctively brush something out of my hair. Lo and behold, a bee lands on my leg … not cool. Never been a big fan of these things, despite never having been stung by one; I’d like to keep it that way. I rolled down the window and was pretty sure the little guy took the opportunity to fly away, as I notice something fly by my shoulder and I can’t spot it anymore. I got off the highway at the next exit and pulled into a parking lot to do a quick search of the car. No sign of my stinging hitchhiker.
As I pull into the lot of the doctor’s and put the car in park, guess who I should see hanging out down near the gear selector? He’s a sneaky one. Not in the best of shape, though, because he’s having trouble climbing out of a little groove he’s gotten himself into and apparently can’t fly, despite my prodding with a sheet of paper. I eventually flicked him out of the car and left him to cruelness of the outside world.
After I wasted my time with the ENT specialist, I swung by the old house. I had forgotten the jade plant I inherited from Dean years ago and have someone miraculously kept alive. Virginia was home and I got to chat with her for a little while and congratulate her and Graham on the whole wedding thing.
I picked up some mail on campus (the GSO still keeps sending stuff to MC, despite me double checking that they would use the address specified in Quest) and had some consulting forms to drop off with Jeanette. I bumped into her and a few other folks to say a quick hello to.
Mark, Norma, and the kids were back from the UK for a couple of weeks, so I arranged to have dinner with them. Ben Thanh opened up a new location across from Conestoga Mall, so I met them there, along with Eddy and Grace. Meghan is getting really big, and Nicole could easily be a younger clone of her!
After dinner, I hung out at Mike’s for a bit before we came back to the area for a showing of Revenge of the Sith. Joining us were Mark, Jose, Mark’s brother Matthew, and AJ. We got there at the perfect time, and were first in line to choose the best seats to watch the digital showing of the movie. Despite some anonymous naysayer, the movie definitely stands up to a repeat viewing and as with other movies in the series, there’s a lot of detail to be uncovered.
It made for a late drive back to Mississauga, but I was home by 2 a.m. and didn’t feel *too* tired at work the next day. But as you might guess from an earlier post, it caught up with me on the weekend!
