My entire television watching schedule for the night was based on the projected time necessary to get my laundry from the dryer to my apartment. It was determined that this time would be longer than a standard commercial break. So, rather than watching Lost while it was on and risk missing even a few minutes while fetching laundry from downstairs, I taped it and watched last night’s downloaded Gilmore Girls instead.
Who says TV rules my life?
Get a PVR. I just signed up for the Rogers digital thingie, and altho it isn’t no TIVO (UI is sort of icky and there are no cool web interfaces), it completely frees you from the tyrrany of TV schedules. One of those life-changing technologies you can’t imagine living without after a week of living with.
My folks have that thing, and it’s awesome. Of course, now they tape far more than they can watch.
I’m actually going to experiment without cable. I have just basic right now, until basketball playoffs are through. After that, I’ll just download my shows.
