Spent the weekend in London, although there’s few who could vouch for it. The majority of the time I was cooped up in the basement, in front of my laptop, working on two assignments for this week. I thought I was mostly finished before I left town, but I got hung up on a bunch of little things, and of course the whole LaTeX thing is a drain on time.
I was supposed to do a dinner thing with my family on Saturday and so I passed on going to Toronto with Patti to see a Danny Michel show. Things didn’t go quite as planned: my nephew was dropped off for babysitting, and Kim’s sister and Mom came over for the afternoon and evening. I guess somewhere in there plans changed, but no one really told me so I had no idea what was going on.
I also had to take a raincheck on getting together with my brother and his girlfriend for dinner & some movies. Progress on my assignments wasn’t going so well and I still wasn’t sure what was up with dinner plans. But it looks like the next time I’m in town I’ll definitely have to hook up with them and congratulate them in person: my brother called me last night after I got back to KW and told me he and Lisa were engaged! It’s so weird to think of my brother getting married … I hope he can live up to the responsibility. Or that Lisa can set him straight with a smack upside the head every so often.
Well, my plans for Valentine evening were postponed to tomorrow night. No, the Valentine connection is only by coincidence; but things should be interesting anyway. Full report afterwards.
