Our little guest is set to be evicted tomorrow morning. This should be interesting. Yeah it’s a day late, but the sentiment really extends through the New Year as we shift focus to a second wave of commercialism. Theories vary on just what the origins of Boxing Day are, but nowadays it seems to be about outdoing ourselves in terms of all the spending done in the previous [...] I just finished watching Far From Heaven, starring the divine Julianne Moore. A period piece set in the late fifties, it’s a methodic, character driven movie involving an idealistic family (well-respected father, devoted wife, two kids, nice house, etc, etc). The movie deals with such issues as homosexuality (& phobia), racism, and domestic abuse. Just [...] Research of the day: how to trap squirrels. As in removal from attics, not for sport. For later reference: Squirrels in your Belfry I’ve been home for a week now, and I think I’m comfortably out of school mode now. The last couple weeks of the term seemed to pass by in an odd haze. I wasn’t completely focused on studying or school work, but not really all that concerned with it and still getting it [...] Please pardon the lack of content, holiday upgrades are being worked on. A holiday classic, to be sure. These never get old. My first exam is tomorrow afternoon. So, tonight I’m heading to Sven’s parents’ place to watch some Survivor and play some GameCube (I think Mike is coming too, not sure of Mandy’s whereabouts). Then I’ll come back into town in the morning when Sven goes to work. I’ve kept up nicely with the Stat 831 [...] Taking thirty seconds to mention that the Prosper class rocks. Any more updating would make me feel guilty as I’m way behind on getting this presentation and report done. By late tomorrow afternoon I can look forward to a relaxing exam period of studying. |
