When it’s slow in the consulting centre I’ve taken to reading some books we have on hand about a statistical software package called SPSS. Not something that I’d really consider using myself, but it’s popular among non-statisticians (it’ll easily let them do analyses — whether they are appropriate or not). So, I pick up Using SPSS for Windows: Analyzing and Understanding Data, Second Edition, and find this on page 1:
SPSS 9.X takes advantage of Windows special architecture as well as other features such as shortcuts, right-clicking, and mullet-tasking.
Too funny! As I mentioned to Dean (becaue I just had to email him this quote right away), I must have looked like an idiot, sitting there in the conlsulting centre trying my hardest not to break down laughing. Much like I’m trying to do right now. It’s fun to be immature sometimes.
