Oh man, I go crazy trying to understand what the hell goes on in the mind of my roommate Dan. Example from this morning, not five minutes ago:
We pass each other in the hallway, as I go into the bathroom to brush my teeth. Clearly he knows I’m in the house. As I exit the bathroom, I hear the front door slam shut. Then comes the sound of his keys as he *locks the door*. Why would he do this, knowing full well that the place is occupied? What really gets me is that if he was so concerned about securing the place, why didn’t he *check the back door and notice it was unlocked*?!!
It makes no sense! My mind cannot cope! I don’t know how many times I’ve come home to an empty house and found an unlocked door. We all know Dan is to blame. We need to institute some sort of system involving fines, because getting through to that dude at the level of common sense or even courtesy to roommates is impossible. He’s a nice enough guy, if clueless, but just so completely oblivious to the outside world. Luckily only a little over a month left to live with him, and for a good chunk of that I hope to be out of town.
